Basil & Cucumber Smash

Ingredients

Cocktail
4 cl of Gin n°1 ADN Distillerie du Rhône
0.5 cl of flower honey
2 cl of filtered lemon juice
1.5 cl of basil cordial
5 cl of Cucumber Tonic Water Hysope

Basil cordial
60 g basil leaves
240 g sugar
240 ml water

Preparation

  1. Fill an Old Fashioned glass with large ice cubes.
  2. Mix with a cocktail spoon to refresh the glass.
  3. In a shaker, pour 4 cl Gin n°1 ADN, 0.5 cl flower honey, 2 cl filtered lemon juice, then 1.5 cl basil cordial*.
  4. Shake! Using a cocktail strainer, pour the mixture into the glass.
  5. Top up with 5 cl of Cucumber Tonic Water Hysope.
  6. Strike the basil leaves against the palm of your hand and arrange as a garnish.

 

*Make your own basil cordial!

  1. Combine the water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to the boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the basil leaves and stir gently for 1 minute to coat with syrup.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat.
  4. Let the mixture cool to room temperature. The basil will continue to infuse.
  5. Strain the mixture through a sieve into a glass bottle. It's ready to use!
